Ingredients

  • 1-½ cups smooth almond butter
  • ⅔ cup soaked dates
  • 2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg and ground cardamom (optional)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp dark cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or monk fruit
  • 3 tbsp ground flax

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
To soak the dates, put them in a bowl and fill up the bowl with hot water until the dates are covered.
Step 2
Let them soak for 30 minutes (or overnight) in the fridge.
Step 3
Scoop out the dates (keep the water for other recipes) and mulch up in a food processor to a rough paste
Step 4
Put all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well
Step 5
Scoop out a heaping tablespoon of the mixture and form into a ball.
Step 6
Lay out on a tray that has been lined with parchment paper.
Step 7
Repeat until all the mixture has been formed into balls.
Step 8
This step is optional - you may then roll your balls in more cocoa powder or shredded coconut or cacao nibs or hulled hemp hearts or any crushed nuts.
