Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil or coconut oil
  • ½ cup popcorn kernels
  • salt
  • truffle infused olive oil
  • tamari
  • nutritional yeast

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1
In a large saucepan over medium heat combine the oil and 2 popcorn kernels. Cover the pot and wait for the kernels to pop (which might take a few minutes). In the meantime place a large serving bowl near the stove so it is ready when you need it.
Step 2
Once the kernels have popped remove the pot from the heat and pour in the remaining kernels. Cover the pot and give the pot a shake to distribute the kernels evenly. Return the pot to the stove.
Step 3
Make sure heat is at medium and continue cooking, shaking the covered pot so that the kernels do not burn. Once the kernels start to pop, tip the lid just a touch to allow steam to escape.
Step 4
Continue cooking until the popping sound slows to about every 3 seconds.
Step 5
Pour the popped popcorn into the serving dish and sprinkle with the other ingredients to taste. Toss to coat and serve immediately
Note
If the popcorn tries to overflow the pot, just tip the upper portion of the popcorn to pour into the serving bowl and return the pot to the heat.
